Now here’s something nice. Vintage Artisan Mason or Carver’s Mallet. Came to me as a stonemason’s mallet but I wouldn’t be sure. Looks clean to me if it was but then I don’t know the conditions it lived in. Could be a heavy woodcarver’s mallet also.
It’s robust and weighs in at 1.7kg approx. Head is about 7″ diameter across and stands at around 9″ from top of head to end of shaft.Very solid and shaft is secure. I have no idea what kind of wood it is. Shaft looks to be oak possibly. Body may be lignum vitae but I wouldn’t know in all honesty. Georgeous thing!
