Description
Pretty rare No 3 Round Moulding Plane by D Kimberley Birmingham. In good as found condition. I can lightly clean and wax if so required. Nice moulded detail on right cheek. Not so common to find odd numbers this could be a great addition to collecting a full set. David Kimberley was highly regarded as a plane maker and is renowned for making some of the better screw stem plough planes. Works were situate at various addresses in Birmingham over the years. Looking at the mark it would seem to pre-date his sons’ addition to the business in 1875 so likely to have been produced between 1852-1875 at Lower Essex Street, 32, Wrentham Street or 5, Leopold Street.
