Lovely Vintage Hearnshaw Bros Rosewood and Brass Mortise Gauge. Bit knocked about but all moves as it should. Feels like something in your hand. Pins are ok and adjustment screw on the stem works fine.
The sliding head with the securing screw has a small crack halfway through but it’s fine, stable, and nothing’s affected. Bears initials FL underneath. It’s had a life, but has another in it. Smart-looking thing. I’ve never seen a Hearnshaw Bros one before.
