Vintage Stanley 78 Fillester Plane in good order that lives again! I thought it may be of interest to show a before and after on this one so I’ve attached a few gallery images if of interest. It’s one I rescued a while ago, found in a bucket of rusty tools requiring a bit of love and been in one of my sheds since! Finally got to it last weekend and really wanted to illustrate that all is not lost sometimes when you find tools that most might discard. If the basics are right and it’s essentially sound it is usually just a case of some cleaning, sharpening, oiling (and time). This took an hour or two but is back to his best now, ready to do what he’s meant to. Fully complete, awaiting good home!
