Description
Nice 4 1/2 here with Stay Set (SS) iron assembly. Record introduced the Stay Set in 1931 when they launched their bench plane range. The premise of the Stay Set version is that they can be sharpened without needing to adjust the position of the cap iron.
Stripped and cleaned prior to listing, all moving parts oiled. Honed and set, it cuts lovely. Rosewood handle had an epoxy repair but very solid. It’s seen some use as is evident. Is absolutely great to work with.
